Terms of Service
Effective: 2026-09-01
By default, your files are never stored on our servers
Every editing and conversion feature in editpot runs entirely inside your browser. Two things follow from that design.
- We never receive, store or view the files you open. All rights in those files remain yours, and we ask for no licence to them of any kind.
- Conversely, your work is not saved anywhere on our side either. Closing or reloading the tab can discard whatever you were editing, so please export and save your result. We cannot recover unsaved work.
The one exception will be the optional paid cloud save feature we are preparing — it keeps only the files you press save on (Section 10).
1. Purpose
These Terms define the conditions and procedures for using editpot, a browser-based image editing service, and the rights, obligations and responsibilities between us and you.
2. Definitions
- Operator — the individual who builds and provides editpot (Section 15). In these Terms "we" and "us" mean that individual, not a company.
- Service — all image editing and conversion tools we provide through editpot.com and related domains.
- User — anyone who uses the Service under these Terms, including guests who use it without an account and members who create one.
- Account — the credential created with an email address or a Google account to identify you within the Service.
- Work files — the images and other files you open or edit in the Service. Work files exist only in your browser unless you use cloud save (Section 10).
3. Changes to these Terms
- These Terms take effect when posted within the Service.
- We may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. We will announce any change at least 7 days before it takes effect — at least 30 days in advance where the change is material or unfavourable to users — through an in-service notice or this page.
- If you continue to use the Service after the stated effective date, you are deemed to have accepted the amended Terms. If you do not accept them, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.
4. What the Service provides
- We provide tools including resizing, cropping, rotation, transparent backgrounds, canvas padding, colour replacement, text, selections, erasing, icon generation, GIF frame editing and PSD/AI import.
- The core editing features are free and require no account, and we do not add watermarks to your output.
- We may add or change features to improve the Service.
5. Accounts
- Creating an account is optional. You may sign up with an email address and password, or connect a Google account.
- You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your account and password secure and must not share them with anyone. Tell us immediately if you become aware of unauthorised use of your account.
- We may refuse registration, or later terminate an account, where someone has signed up under another person’s identity, entered false information, or previously breached these Terms.
6. Deleting your account; restrictions on use
- You may delete your account at any time yourself, via Delete account in the account menu. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- On deletion your account data is erased, and any visit or usage statistics already recorded are detached from the account so that they can no longer identify you. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- If you breach Section 7 we may restrict your use or terminate your account after notifying you. Where there is an immediate risk to the operation of the Service, we may act first and notify you afterwards.
7. Your obligations
You must not:
- process images through the Service in a way that infringes another person’s copyright, likeness rights, trademarks or other rights;
- use the Service to produce or distribute content prohibited by law, including child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or images made to defame, harass or discriminate;
- alter identity documents, certificates, receipts or similar records of fact so that others may take them for genuine;
- send excessive automated requests or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
- reverse-engineer, copy or adapt the Service’s code to offer an identical or similar service;
- circumvent access controls or attempt to access another user’s account.
Because editing happens in your browser, we cannot see the contents of your work files and do not screen them in advance. Compliance with the above is therefore entirely your responsibility.
8. Rights in your files and output
- All rights in the files you open and the output you create remain with you or with their rightful owner.
- Unless you use cloud save, work files are never transmitted to our servers, so we cannot store, use or disclose them to third parties. Even with cloud save, we use your files solely to provide save, reload and delete — never for any other purpose, AI training included — and we require no licence from you.
- You are responsible for the legal consequences of how you use your output.
9. Our intellectual property
The software, interface design, logos, trademarks and documentation that make up the Service belong to us. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from them without our prior written consent.
10. Paid plans and payment
- We currently operate no paid plans; every feature is free.
- If we introduce paid plans, we will state the plan contents, price, billing cycle and refund conditions in advance on the checkout and pricing pages.
- Where payment is introduced, payment processing and tax handling will be carried out by a Merchant of Record we appoint. We do not store card numbers or other payment credentials.
- Withdrawal of subscription and refunds follow the applicable consumer protection laws and the payment provider’s policy.
- Cloud save (planned) — an optional paid feature that will keep the work files you explicitly save on our servers so you can continue editing on another device. You may delete saved files at any time, and if a subscription ends we keep them for a grace period so you can download them before they are erased. What is stored, for how long, and the length of that grace period will be set out in the Privacy Policy and announced before the feature launches.
11. Advertising
We may display advertising within the Service to support its operation. We are not responsible for losses or disputes arising from your participation in an advertiser’s promotions.
12. Changes to and suspension of the Service
- We may change or discontinue all or part of the Service, and will give notice beforehand. Where this is unavoidable — a system failure or an urgent security measure, for example — we may give notice afterwards.
- We may suspend the Service for scheduled maintenance during an announced window.
13. Limitation of liability
- The Service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it is fit for any particular purpose or that it will operate without fault.
- Because editing runs in your browser, results and speed vary with your browser type and version and with your device’s memory and performance. Very large images or GIFs with many frames may fail to process on constrained devices.
- Unless you use cloud save, your work is not stored on our servers, so we have no obligation or liability to recover work lost when a browser is closed, reloaded or crashes. Please export and keep your results as you go.
- We are not liable for interruptions caused by force majeure, network failures, or causes attributable to you.
- To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of this free Service, save where caused by our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
14. Privacy
We protect your personal data in accordance with applicable law. What we process, why, and for how long is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Addendum
- These Terms take effect on 2026-09-01.
